The work

This is not ground-level work.

Christmas light installation is roof work — all day, every day. We'd rather you know exactly what that means before you apply.

🏠
On the roof all day
Not a quick trip up the ladder. Your day is spent on the roof, moving along the roofline, one section at a time.
📐
Close to the edge
The lights go on the edge, so you work at the edge. You need to stay calm, focused, and steady there the entire time.
⛰️
Steep pitches
Plenty of roofs are steep. If a tall, steep roof makes your stomach drop, this isn't the right role.
💪
Doing what others are afraid of
The people who thrive here are the ones who look at a roof other crews would pass on and get to work.

The right tools — provided by us
Pitch Hoppers
Grip the shingles to give you a flat surface anywhere on the roof.
The Goat
Hooks over the peak, so scaling a steep roof is as simple as walking up stairs.
Cougar Paws
Roofing shoes designed to make every roof easier to walk.

This gear makes steep roofs a lot more manageable — but it doesn't replace being comfortable with heights. We provide the equipment. The comfort has to come from you.

Day in the life

What a typical day actually looks like.

We'd rather lose you in the interview than week two. Here's an honest look at the day.

1
7:30 AM
Start time
Monday through Friday, we start at 7:30 AM. Show up ready to go.
2
Before heading out
Load up and gear up
Load the truck, review the day's jobs, and get your roof gear on and checked before you leave the shop.
3
On the job
Up on the roof
Install lights along the roofline — working near the edge and on pitched roofs, with your gear. Clean, consistent work matters because customers see every foot of it.
4
Midday
Lunch break
Come down off the roof, refuel, and drink some water.
5
Afternoon
Finish the list
Work until the day's list is complete. The faster and cleaner you get, the more that works in your favor.
6
End of day
Wrap up
Clean up, load out, and head back to the shop. Then you're done.

What you earn

Your effort.
Your paycheck.

We don't use flat hourly pay for this role. Instead, your pay is tied to the work you complete. The more efficient and consistent you get, the more you can earn. For some people, that's a big advantage. For others, it's not the right fit — and that's okay. Watch the video for a full breakdown of how it works and what to expect.

What we're looking for

Requirements & the right fit.

Roofing experience isn't the point. Comfort at height and the right attitude are — we can teach the rest.

🏔️
Genuinely comfortable at height
Required. Not "fine once I'm up there" — comfortable working at the edge of a roof, all day, without it taking over your focus.
⛰️
Okay with steep pitches
You'll work steep roofs with the gear we provide. If you're willing to do what others are afraid of, you'll fit right in.
💪
Physically capable
This is outdoor, physical work through fall and winter, on your feet and on the roof all day. We need people who can handle it and take pride in it.
🧠
Coachable mindset
You don't need to know everything. You need to be willing to learn, take feedback, and keep getting better.
🚗
Valid driver's license
Required for this role.
✅
18+ and work-authorized
Must be 18 or older and legally eligible to work in the United States.
What you get

More than just a paycheck.

Here's what comes with the role.

💰
Performance-based pay
Your effort drives your income. Work smarter, earn more.
📅
Consistent schedule
Mon–Fri, starting at 7:30 AM and working until the day's list is done.
🧗
The right roof gear
Pitch hoppers, The Goat, and cougar paws — provided, so you're set up to work the pitch.
🎓
Stay on after the season
Install season runs October through January. If you join the team, we expect you to learn other services and stay with us year-round.
📈
A real path forward
We promote from within and tell you exactly what the next step looks like.
🤝
A team that shows up
High standards and real backup. When things get hard, the team steps in.
This role is NOT for you if...
  • You're afraid of heights, or you tense up near a roof edge — you'll be there all day
  • You'd rather pass on steep or tall roofs — those are part of the job
  • You're looking for an easy indoor job — this is physical outdoor work in every season
  • You can't commit to showing up on time for a 7:30 AM start, every single day
  • You need someone to motivate you every morning — we hire self-starters
  • You're not comfortable being accountable to clear performance standards
  • You treat customers like an inconvenience — they're the reason we're here
  • You see a job as just a paycheck and have no interest in growing
